Course Outline 

Over the past several years, digital dentistry has taken hold of our profession. With technology and materials improving daily, the clinical team must be on board to accept the new reality or be left behind. This course is designed to create efficient systems, better lab communication, and quality indirect restorations consistently. We will discuss how to appropriately incorporate this technology into your practice from diagnosis to final delivery. The culmination of this technology will create a patient experience that differentiates your practice.

  • Discuss how an appropriate prep design leads to more successful restorations
  • Visualize how analog principles set the stage for digital success

About Dr. Duplantis 

Dr. Duplantis received his DDS degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School in 1999. He then continued with Post-doctorate training at Baylor College of Dentistry, earning a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry in 2000. He has also received his Fellowship degree from the Academy of General Dentistry.

He has been in private practice since 2000 in the North Fort Worth, Texas area. In private practice, he treats all ages with an emphasis on restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

Dr. Duplantis has always had an interest in “high-tech” dentistry and has been incorporating CAD/CAM and digital technology in his practice since 2004. Dr Duplantis has written and published several articles regarding digital dentistry and workflows for various dental publications. In addition to technology, Dr. Duplantis has a keen interest in restorative implantology, CBCT, impressioning, adhesion, and materials, and he is also published in these regards.

Recently he co-founded “Dentists IN the Know” which is a social media group to help inform and educate. Dr. Duplantis resides in Keller, Texas with his wife, Ellen, and his children, Austin and Ava. He is a recreational cyclist and enjoys golf and many other outdoor activities in his spare time.

Course Outline 

Convenience is the commodity that matters the most to patients. When considering to proceed with treatment, patients often cite having fewer appointments and not having to go see other specialists as an important motivator. 3D printing in your office allows you to both provide immediate restorations and better plan your comprehensive cases. Occlusal guards, surgical guides, models, retainers, prototypes, provisionals, clear aligners, dentures and permanent restorations can all be printed very quickly. Move treatment forward faster, get more diagnosis and production from your hygiene chairs, lower your lab bills, treat smile design cases more confidently and offer your patients the convenience they desire. Adding 3D printing to your work flow is easy for you and your team.

About Dr. McMahon

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine, Dr. McMahon owns one of the largest cosmetic dental practices in Western Pennsylvania. She is accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and an invited Fellow of the prestigious American Society for Dental Aesthetics and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. An author and internationally recognized lecturer and KOL, Dr. McMahon has devoted her professional career to the pursuit of advanced technologies in cosmetic and minimally invasive dentistry. She is a past clinical instructor in Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh. She frequently lectures across the United States and internationally on minimally invasive dentistry and conservative cosmetic dentistry for teenagers and young adults. She also lectures on incorporating technology and smile design. She had been honored as a Top Dentist over 20 times. She has also been voted by her peers as a Top Pittsburgh Dentist every year for over two decades.

Dr. McMahon is active in promoting the advancement of women in dentistry. She mentors and supports many rising dental speakers through speaker training and networking.
