ABOUT BETSY BAKEMAN, DDS, FAACD

Dr. Bakeman is a member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and an Accredited Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Dr. Bakeman serves as President Elect of the AACD and an examiner for both the Accreditation and the Fellowship examinations administered by the AACD. She served as Chairman of Accreditation for the AACD and Chairman of the American Board of Cosmetic Dentistry. She is an Adjunct Faculty member of the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. She has served as Section Editor for Compendium and the Journal of Cosmetic Dentistry and serves on several boards. She maintains a full-time private practice in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

COURSE OUTLINE:

Adhesively retained dentistry (porcelain veneers) can fulfill patient’s esthetic objectives while preserving tooth structure. Learn a systematic, logical approach for preparation, provisionalization and delivery of highly esthetic veneer restorations. Specific preparation guidelines are taught to optimize predictability of tooth preparation when needed. Meeting and exceeding patients’ expectations for enhanced esthetics can be a gratifying addition to any practice.

  • Understand where and when veneers are appropriate
  • Appreciate the value of the diagnostic mock up and preparation guides
  • Learn to fabricate provisional restorations that satisfy the esthetic, functional and biomechanical needs of the patient

Dr. McMahon enjoys one of the largest cosmetic dental practices in Western Pennsylvania. She is accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and a Fellow of the prestigious American Society for Dental Aesthetics. An author and lecturer, Dr. McMahon has devoted her professional career to the pursuit of advanced technologies in cosmetic and minimally invasive dentistry. She is the Director of New Product Evaluation for Catapult Education. She frequently lectures across the United States on minimally invasive dentistry and conservative cosmetic dentistry for teenagers and young adults. She has been voted by her peers as a Top Pittsburgh Dentist every year for over 15 years.
